Developing an urban and rural model of freely accessible tertiary education for those denied access.
The Need for Expansion and Replication: There are 6 million unemployed youth in South Africa alone, and over 400 million unemployed youth across Africa. Demand for access to accessible higher education is unlimited.
Proposed funding would be used to develop the Replication Centre to provide: educational materials development, technological gearing-up, assessment, and Master’s level administrative and leadership training for staff/students, to create a centralized hub for distance campuses in South Africa and other sub-Saharan African countries and ensure proper scaling up of the model and a solid foundation for rural and urban replication over the next 3-10 years.
Your generous contribution to the Replication Model will ensure that we meet our goal of $250,000 to allow scaling and replication anywhere. We are extremely grateful to the Skoll Foundation, who have contributed $150,000 to the project. The work has begun and is well underway.
